410 Authorization Required - Sign-Up Component

Postby Chappy » Wed Jul 11, 2007 1:45 pm

hello,

I am getting the "Internal Server Error" when I try to sign up a new user to my web site. I have successfully published a guestbook no problem and the server is reading the .php.

I can get in as an Admin in the secure site but still cannot add to the user.csv

It is in the same folder as the guestbook.csv with the same permissions.

I contacted my host server and they tried but couldn't see what the issue is.

Please help!!!
Thanks

Chris

After making sure the file is indeed writable, make sure the configuration for the component points to the right path for the file.

This is a commmon mistake.

Hello Chuck,

I have both Web Site Pro's along with my hosting site researching what is going on. There is no permission issue.

Regarding the components and path, here is the site structure:

When I publish - I specify my server - xxx.wwwww.com
My directory: htdocs/THECHAPMANS/

The user.csv file that the Sign up component points to is ../db/user.csv

The location of this file is htdocs/THECHAPMANS/db (note that the scripts directory is at htdocs/THECHAPMANS/scripts)

The db folder has 777 permission and the user.csv has all read, all write and no execute permission.

Where do I determine if the configuration for the component points to the right path for the file?

Thanks.
Thanks

Chris
