Cleaning house (assets folder)

Postby Confusion 11 » Sun Mar 07, 2010 11:23 am

I've noticed that while i am working on the site and trying out things to see if I like them, like digital clocks, calendars, photo gallery’s, etc... Fusion is populating the assets folder with all sorts of files and pictures that i have decided not to use. how can I slim down that file to only what my site needs to save storage on the server, load times act. I could just manually delete folders and stuff but at this point I’m not sure which folders, jpegs fusion is using.

In Assets View, choose "Verify all file assets" from the Assets menu. Then, after verification, choose "Remove all unused file assets".

Then go to Site View and on the tools menu, choose re-optimize.

That should clean up things.

You've moved or deleted an image file.

If you don't have any boxes with red x's on any of your pages, it may have been in a master border you're no longer using.

When you get a message like that, it should tell you where the file it can't find is in use. And the name of the file.

You can delete any unused master borders and try to verify assets again.

You should know the names of master borders you have in use.

Go to any page in Design View. Press F10 to access Master Border properties.

Click on Add/Edit next to the master border name dropdown.

Select and delete any that you aren't currently using, if there are any.
