navbar problems

Postby artman » Wed Feb 10, 2010 1:53 pm

I am being aggravated by this navbar issue.

I deleted my navbars and made new ones.

Yet, when I local publish some work and some don't.

I have been going through the html code and cannot find anything that looks out of place.

Any ideas what to look for?

If you'd like to send me a template of your site, I'll take a look at it.

Thanks Chuck,

That would be great!

The template is 32 MB. How would you like me to get it to you?

I can ftp or put it on my ftp. Probably best to email the info privately.

I'll set up an ftp folder for you to put it in on our server.

Will PM you with the credentials.

OK... I PM'd you with some issues I've found, not related directly to your navbar problems. But still things you should address.

Your non-working navbars may look like the ones that work, but you don't have them completely configured.

On your "Who We Are" page for example. Select the navbar and go to the second tab. You don't have flyouts turned on or the secondary button set selected for the non-top level menu buttons. (I've already fixed this page in the template I'll export and put on the FTP site for you to grab.)

You have a gazillion master borders in your site, which means you have some work to do to get all of the menus configured properly.

When you get the template back that I worked on, you'll see that I color coded the different master borders in Site view. You only have to go to one page using the MB to fix the flyouts. Then when done, republish your entire site.

The revised template is on the ftp server now.

Let me know when you've downloaded it. It's down to just over 27MB after some maintenance.

Thanks for the work Chuck.

The navbar issue must be related to copy/paste. I made the navbar on my home page first, then copied and pasted it into each of the other masterborders.

The who we are navbar is from the home page.

When I look at my old template the home page navbar has the flyout selected in the properties menu but the who we are page does not.
I am playing around with copying and pasting to see what happens. In the meantime I will check them one by one.

I don't really have a "gazillion" masterborders. About 12 or so. I know what you mean.
At least they are cut down from our previous site.

I didn't know you could color code the pages like that. Handy.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I appreciate all the work.
