Hi
Just after some general feed back and to see if any other users have had the following problem.
I have netobjects fusion 10 which came with templates package, I have had this for about 2yrs and has been great.
Yesterday I received a demand for payment from a company called Getty Images for £425.25 GBP for ilegally using one of there images on my website. The image in question is part of the embeded template header which came on the template and is not editable.
I have tried contacting Netobjects Fusion support to get confimation that they own the rights to this image which grants me the use of the image through the purchase of the software, but have had no reply as yet.

I am interested to know if any other people have come across this problem as if these template images are not copyright protected by Netobjects we are all in for exspensive legal costs with this Getty Images company as they seem to very aggresive with there demand, at present I have not replied to them and do not intend to unless took to court, but it would be nice to know if I am breaking the law without me knowing prior.

For what I understand, when the early template packs were created, the images form Getty were indeed licensed.

There was a dispute that developed over those images used in template packs 1 and 2. That's why they are no longer being sold.

Getty is infamous for trolling for "their images" that people think they're using legally and asking for exorbitant sums of money (for small business owners anyway).

Taking down the offending images may satisfy them, or they may persist in wanting money "damages".

In my non-attorney opinion, best to replace the images and Getty just goes away. They might. Or may not.

(A quick search on Google or Bing would no doubt reveal other sites concerning this subject.)
