FAQ Componest issues (NOF 9.0)

Is appears that my website's entire FAQ component database is now missing. All was working fine for months and one day it is gone, ie. the file is empty. Catagories are still there but now reflects zero questions. It appears that the Q&A data is stored in a .csv file in the /scripts subdirectory. Th...

phpBB.net

I recently ran across pbpBB.net which appears to offer free hosted forums using this same software. Is this in any way connected to the folks at phpBB.com that developed the actual software? Is it safe to use?

Re: Stacked Pages

Chuck,
How can I contact you about possibly doing some database work for me? If you want to reply to my personal email: jay@highcountrywebdesigns.com that would be fine. Perhaps that way we can arrange a call.

Re: Is NOF 9 a Memory Hog

Increasing the virtual memory settings to 1.5X took care of the problem. Thanks Chuck!

Re: Is NOF 9 a Memory Hog

I believe so, running: 9.10.000.5031.

The main reasons I haven't upgraded to 10 are: 1) I usually hold off on a new product or upgrade to give it some time to shake out all the bugs, 2) on some of the NOF forums users are continually hammering the reliability of NOF 10 which takes me back to #1.

Is NOF 9 a Memory Hog

After switching from NOF 8 to NOF 9 I found that my frequency of program crashes shot off the chart. This issue only affects two programs when both are running, Photoshop 7.0 and NOF 9.1. Here is what happens: If NOF is up, the Photoshop (1 out of 3 times) will not launch stating insufficient memory...

Re: Stacked Pages

Chuck,

Each stacked page would have one photo, some text, and a link or two. It's basically the profile of an individual. I know just about zip about building databases. The drop down link allows the reader to select an individual's name and nav to that persons page.

Stacked Pages

I'm working on a project where I want to create a group of stacked pages, each of which can be accessed via a javascript dropdown menu. I.e. click the drop down, mouse down to the selection, select and be taken to the correct stacked page. I have the menu but need to know if anyone has any thoughts ...

Re: background within a background

Is there an simple way to create the rounded corners that we see in the tables on this page? Where can I learn about this? I've seen rounded corner tables on cnn.com for years and always wondered "how they do that?"
Thanks
